The #IndependentsDay national campaign is just around the corner and we have a great opportunity to show support to our local independent retailers. Shopping locally not only acts as a boost to the local economy, it also encourages footfall and creates an exciting buzz within the area.
Independent businesses are a vital part of the high street and the foundation of our communities. They need our support! With the majority of towns and cities running their own local versions of the campaign there will be plenty to celebrate, with many retailers providing special offers and staging special events on the day.
Did you know that for every £1 spent in a local independent business, between 50p-70p is kept within the local economy, as opposed to just 5p when shopping in large chains or online (FSB, 2015)?
With an abundance of shops, cafes, salons, restaurants and market traders getting involved – why not do your bit to keep your high street thriving and shop local this Saturday 4th July.
