Claire Strong from The Copper Tree, based in Gwent, got in touch with Handepay to find out if she could make savings on her credit card machine.

Opened 15 years ago by Claire’s mother, Patricia Lewis, the business started out in a small shop. Over the years, the company has expanded and transformed into a luxurious three-floor boutique.

Now managed by Claire, the business provides fashionable clothing and accessories for every occasion. With two floors stocking smart casual clothing and the top floor dedicated to wedding accessories and outfits, the shop provides personal service and an extensive choice.

Claire was thrilled when she discovered that she could save 46% on her credit card machine:

“My husband runs a hotel, and had recently saved a great deal of money on his credit card machine by taking the Handepay Price Challenge. When he found out that Handepay were doubling their referral promotion for one month only, it seemed like the perfect time to see how much my business could save.

He filled in the simple online referral form, and I was quickly contacted by an advisor. I had spoken with other credit card machine providers in the past, but they all had complicated charging systems and I found it difficult to understand how much I’d actually be paying.

I was thrilled to discover that Handepay’s charges for accepting payments through a credit card machine were much more straightforward. They are transparent with their pricing structure, and have no hidden fees whatsoever.

When my advisor told me that I could save over £150 each month by switching, I was shocked. I had no idea how expensive my previous provider was!

Being able to speak to Handepay’s UK-based team made the transition simple. My advisor was really helpful, I’m not tech savvy at all so he walked me through the whole process.

As a business owner, you have a tendency to stick with the same suppliers to save any hassle, but switching to Handepay was a doddle. I installed the credit card machine myself, and it’s straightforward and easy to use.

Our stock is made up of high-value luxury products, so the majority of our sales have always been made on card. This makes a credit card machine an essential item for the business, so it’s great that we can make savings on something that we can’t do without. We’re continuing to grow the business, so saving over £1,800 each year will come in useful!”
