Frequently Asked Questions

New to cards or switching providers, our experts can answer your questions.

Card payments are the most popular payment method in the UK, so it’s essential to have a card payment machine at your business to ensure you’re not missing out on sales. Not only will this improve your cash flow, it makes taking payment quicker, reduces queuing times, and it’s much more secure than keeping cash on your premises.

We provide a selection of card payment terminals to meet your business requirements including countertop, portable and mobile machines.  We have e-commerce solutions so you can trade online and virtual terminals for customers who purely take payments in a non-face to face environment.

You can either request a quote via our website and we’ll contact you or alternatively you can give us a call. Our advisors are available to answer all your questions and guide you through the card processing process, to ensure the best product is selected for your business needs.

It varies from customer to customer, but our average saving is 36%. When requesting a quote from us we’ll analyse your current merchant services statement and provide you with a detailed cost comparison, showing you the savings that can be made.

Simply provide us with a recent merchant statement via email to [email protected] (you can either send a scanned image or a photograph of the statement). We’ll carry out a full review of your merchant services costs and provide you with a quote which shows how much you can save by switching to Handepay. If we can’t beat your current costs, we’ll give you £1,000!

It depends on your existing agreement. There could be cancellation costs if you end your agreement early, however Handepay may be able to offer you a switching payment to cover these. Plus, you’ll also benefit from saving money by switching to us!

No. We recommend that you don’t give notice to cancel your existing agreement until your Handepay card processing facility is up and running, that way you can be sure there is no break in service.

Once your card machine is installed and has made its first live transaction (within 14 days of delivery date), and you’ve made your first rental payment, you’ll need to provide us with your final invoice / settlement quote from your existing supplier.

Email [email protected] with your settlement quote and a VAT invoice for the final switching costs (you can send either a scanned image or a photograph of the document).

Claims for switching costs must be made within 90 days of your first transaction. See our Terms and Conditions for more information.

We can have you up and running and accepting card payments in as little as three business days. The sooner we receive your completed application the quicker we can open your merchant account.

The funds will be settled into your account on the next banking day*.

*The accelerated settlement service incurs a fee of £4 per month charged by EVO, our card acquirer. Providing your card machine performs a reconciliation before 12am (midnight), you’ll receive settlement of funds the next banking day.
