How do mobile card machines work?

Now you’re familiar with the basics of mobile card machines, let’s explore how they work
in a little more detail.

As you know, as long as you have network coverage - you can accept card payments virtually anywhere.

You’re not limited to one fixed location, or an access point within a certain range.

Mobile card machines are connected via a GPRS network and can therefore process payments anywhere within the wide range of network coverage.

Unlike a countertop card machine which is wired up, or a wireless portable machine that connects via WiFi, a mobile card machine processes payments through GPRS.

Essentially, it connects to the strongest network available using the built-in SIM card.

Besides from this, Handepay’s mobile card machines work in the same way any of our other card machines would - in that they process both Chip and PIN and contactless transactions with the latest payment technology as standard.
