The card and the underlying account is not a banking product and is not protected under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme in the same way bank accounts are; however the funds held on a customer's card and account are safeguarded so customers do receive protection for their funds.
The card can only be used at participating retailer locations in the United Kingdom and Channel Islands and cannot be used to withdraw cash from ATMs. There are certain customer due diligence checks that Park Card Servies may need to undertake on a customer both when setting up their account and when their loads hit certain thresholds in a 12 month period.
