What do I need to do?

Thank you for choosing the Register EPOS and integrated card payments solution provided through Handepay.

Register provides a flexible EPOS platform to help you manage your business. To ensure that we get you up and running and tailor the solution that is best for you we need to ask you some questions. The on-boarding team will use the  questionnaire responses to customise the Register system for you.

Read through and complete this questionnaire For your ease, we will tell you what we will set up by default and allow you to change or provide additional changes to suit your need.

To help us to get you started quickly, please provide a response to all the  questions. We want to get you up and running and receiving the benefits of  register very soon.

A Tax, that can either be defined as a percentage or a fixed value, can be added to Departments and Products to set the final selling price of the Product. By default we will create the following Taxes:

  • Standard Rate 20% (Tax Identifier for the receipt - V)
  • Reduced Rate 5% (Tax Identifier for the receipt - R)
  • Zero Rate 0% (Tax Identifier for the receipt - Z)

The Tax Identifier is used on the Customer receipt to show which taxes are applicable to each item.
Only a single alphanumeric or special character is allowed.

Staff Members are able to use your Register(s) to perform transactions in the trading locations that they are assigned to. Staff Members can either be Supervisors or POS Users, their abilities will depend on the permissions that are given to them in the relevant profile.
Please read the following explanations:

  • Available in CRM Calendar. Only applicable to Plus licence users. When set to “YES” the Staff Member will be visible in the CRM Calendar and allow appointments to be created against them. When set to NO the Staff Member will not appear in the calendar.
  • Commission Rate. The Commission Rate is a multiplier used to work out each Staff Members Commission, for applicable products. As an example, selling a product with a 10% Base Commission
    • if the Commission Rate is set to 1 they will receive the full 10%
    • a Commission Rate of 0.5 will give half (5%)
    • a Commission Rate of 2 will give double (20%).
  • Manage Products Locally. When set to YES, the Staff Member will be able to Create, Edit and Disable products directly from the Stock screen of the Register Client. This overrides the Access Stock permission set in the Config Profile.
  • Stores. Please specify if team members are only associated with certain locations (as specified earlier).
  • PIN. Each team member will use a 4-digit PIN code to log on to Register. Please have the 4-digit PIN ready when you to create the users
  • Staff Code. If you do not use staff codes, please leave blank The onboarding team will create you as a user in the Register Portal. Once you have access you will be able to create your team as users. To create team members, you will need to collate and have ready the following information:

A Portal User is given access to your Portal either as an Administrator, without restrictions, or as a User, who will only have access to your Reports. For the Username, it is advisable to use "Email" type names such as "[email protected]".

Passwords are min of 8 characters and must contain lowercase, uppercase and a number. The onboarding team will create you as an Administrator in the Portal. Once you have access, you will be able to create your team members. To create Portal team members, you need to collate and have ready the following information.

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Username
  • Password
  • Role (User / Administrator)

The on-boarding team can import products or services that you sell into the Register system. First, we will need your Department/Categories groups, then we will need your products to put in them. Departments are product categories like your website arranged by service, manufacturer, supplier or type. Register uses Departments to group the Products in your Store(s), this allows a more efficient way of visually categorising the Products on the Register's Browser (Not applicable to the Lite version). Automatically End Day. If set to NO, the Register will not prompt the Staff to begin End Day process. When set to YES, the Register will prompt to begin the End Day process at the time specified in the Auto End Day Time setting.
Auto End Day Time. Once this time is reached the Register will automatically close if it has not already been closed by a Staff Member.
Blind Declaration. When set to YES, the Cashing Up screen will not display the expected sales totals nor show if the till has an overage or shortage.
Cashing Up Type. When set to Cash Total, only the tender totals have to be entered during the End Day Process, such as Card Total, Cash Total or Other Tender Total. When set to Denominations, each Cash Denominations will need to entered, along with the other Tender Totals.
Logout User After End Day. If set to YES, the Staff Member will be automatically logged out of the Register once the End Day has been completed.
End of Day Reference. When set to Optional or Required, a dialog will be shown allowing the Staff Member to enter a reference for the End Day. When set to Off, the Reference dialog will not be shown.
Logout User After Each Transaction. If set to YES, the Staff Member will be logged out after any transaction has been completed
Logout User After X Settings. If a logged in Staff Member has been inactive on the system for X seconds they will automatically be logged out. Setting this value to 0, will disable this functionality
Enable No Sale Reasons. When set to YES, the Register will prompt the Staff Member to select a reason for the No Sale. These reasons can be managed from the Lists area of the Web Portal.
Enable Cancel Sale Reasons. When set to YES, the Register will prompt the Staff Member to select a reason for the Cancel Sale. These reasons can be managed from the Lists area of the Web Portal.
Enable Void Item Reasons. When set to YES, the Register will prompt the Staff Member to select a reason for the Void Item. These reasons can be managed from the Lists area of the Web Portal.
Enable Refund Reasons. When set to YES, the Register will prompt the Staff Member to select a reason for the Refund and query if the product is to be placed back into stock or not. These reasons can be managed from the Lists area of the Web Portal.
Enable Stock Adjustment Reasons. When set to YES, the Register will prompt the Staff Member to select a reason for the Stock Adjustment. These reasons can be managed from the Lists area of the Web Portal.
Enable Age Verification Reasons. When set to YES, the Register will display a list of Approval and Refusal Reasons when the staff member adds an age restricted item to the journal. The Refusal Reasons can also be used during the Void Item and Cancel Sale processes. These reasons can be managed from the Lists area of the Web Portal.

New to Cards Businesses- The 12-month terminal hire contract from Merchant Rentals is only available to businesses that are new to card payments and wish to receive acquiring services from EVO Payments UK, arranged through Handepay.

The Next Day Banking Settlement service provided by EVO Payments UK incurs an additional fee of £4 a month on top of your acquiring service charges and fees. Provided your card machine performs a reconciliation before 12am (midnight), you’ll receive settlement of funds the next banking day.
