Handepay Merchant Services expands into new office space

Expanding merchant services provider Handepay Merchant Services have completed the move into brand new office space at Westway Park off the East Lancs Road at Haydock.

The company, which provides card payment terminals to 20,000 small and medium sized businesses across the country, have made the move from smaller premises nearby as part of their ambitious growth plans over the next three years.

Handepay have set a target of doubling their customer base to 40,000 by 2017 by offering new products and channels – and the new 14,500 sq ft office will give them the ability to hire more staff in line with that expansion.

For the moment, it will be Handepay’s existing 139 employees split across sales, sales support, telesales, customer service and administration, who will benefit from dramatically improved staff facilities.

Westway Park is an impressive new development off the East Lancs Road close to junction 23 of the M6.

Andy Peake, Managing Director at Handepay Merchant Services, comments: “This is an exciting time for the business. We secured over 8,000 new customers in 2013 and want to double our customer base in the next three years.”

“To achieve this, we are expanding the number of card payment products we offer SMEs and entering new sales channels. This will mean new recruitment. The relocation to this magnificent new space at Westway Park is, therefore, a strategic building block to underpin this planned growth.”

Mayor of St Helens, cllr Andy Bowden, visited Handepay to officially open the new Westway Park offices – and congratulated the company for continuing to grow in a time of economic uncertainty.

He says: “It’s brilliant to see a business thriving like this within the region, particularly one that provides support to many start-up and small businesses and encourages their growth at the same time.”
