Handepay staff brave the conditions to take part in the St Helens 10K

Staff at Handepay took part in the St Helens 10k to continue their pledge to hit the £20,000 target for The Steve Prescott Foundation.

The Steve Prescott Foundation is our nominated charity and we have pledged to raise a further £20,000 over the course of the next year. Last year we raised over £13,000 with a series of fundraising events including the ‘The Grand Final Walk’, where staff walked 18 miles from Haydock to Old Trafford for the Rugby League Grand Final last October.

On Sunday 5th March, five of our staff members battled the rain and strong winds to represent the company and support The Steve Prescott Foundation. This is the 7th year of the 10k event which attracted over 2000 runners, as well as many spectators and volunteers encouraging them along the way.

The weather on the day didn’t dampen our runners’ enthusiasm for the event, which started outside of The Totally Wicked Stadium, early on Sunday morning. They tackled the infamous North Road hill along the way, finishing with hundreds of spectators cheering them over the line.

It wasn’t only the runners representing the company on the day. Handepay staff members also volunteered to man the water stations, offering refreshments to the runners, spurring them on to complete the challenge.

To continue our partnership with The Steve Prescott Foundation and support our fundraising target, we will be hosting The Handepay St. Helens Triathlon on the 10th September 2017, as well as a series of fundraising events throughout the year.
